MGCCC Awarded $7.1 Million Grant to Expand Statewide AI Initiative
Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC) has received a $7.1 million RESTORE Act grant to expand the Mississippi Artificial Intelligence Network (MAIN)—the nation’s first statewide AI workforce initiative. This groundbreaking effort brings together all 15 Mississippi community colleges, multiple universities, and industry partners to drive workforce transformation through advanced AI training, cloud computing, and data science. The new funding will establish the first AI Hub on the Gulf Coast, boosting economic growth and creating career pathways in sectors like healthcare, aerospace, and defense. With plans to grow MAIN into a statewide AI and cybersecurity corridor alongside the Mississippi Cyber Initiative, this project positions Mississippi as a national leader in technology-driven innovation.
