Mississippi Cyber Center Launches as Hub for Statewide Cybersecurity Training and Innovation
Mississippi State University (MSU), Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC), and multiple state and federal partners recently celebrated the grand opening of the Mississippi Cyber Center on MGCCC’s Harrison County Campus. The center houses the first capabilities of the MSU-led Mississippi Cyber Initiative (MCI), a statewide effort focused on cybersecurity preparedness, collaboration, and education. Funded by an initial $3.5 million state investment, the center is designed to serve as MCI’s headquarters and a future hub for cyber training, threat mitigation, and public-private collaboration. Leaders from MSU and MGCCC emphasized the facility’s role in preparing both students and military personnel for the evolving cyber landscape. With plans for expansion and the development of a larger Mississippi Cyber and Technology Center, this initiative positions Mississippi as a leader in national cybersecurity efforts.
