Transforming the Gulf Coast Economy: MGCCC Workforce Summit Connects Education and Industry
Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC) will host its Annual Workforce Summit on October 3 at the Jackson County Campus in Gautier, bringing together over 100 workforce professionals, educators, and industry leaders. The event is designed to align training and education with the region’s evolving workforce needs—particularly in high-demand fields like welding, shipbuilding, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing.
Attendees will explore graduate performance data, discuss future workforce pipelines, and preview MGCCC’s state-of-the-art tools for hands-on instruction, including virtual and simulator-based training technologies. The summit also strengthens collaboration between employers and education by fostering open dialogue on real-time hiring needs and industry demands.
This statewide effort supports economic development and long-term competitiveness along the Gulf Coast by equipping individuals with the skills they need to succeed in high-wage, high-skill industries.
